EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing
EMDR is a form of integrative psychotherapy used to treat trauma. The client is asked to recall specific memories whilst the therapist uses bilateral stimulation such as eye movements or tapping to help the client reprocess the memory to a more adaptive resolution. On average it takes 6-10 sessions to reprocess one memory. I have used EMDR to help clients reprocess one off traumas such as accidents and often work with clients with CPTSD involving childhood abuse, sexual assaults, neglect and bullying.
I am an accredited practitioner with EMDR UK/EUROPE.
